Hey – I’m Wil! I’m currently an Instructional Designer at Fanshawe College in London, ON. What does that mean exactly? I design textbooks for our Open Educational Resources Studio.

I have an extensive background in teaching and facilitating, with an emphasis on facilitating DEI workshops and teaching IT courses. I’m a community leader with over 17 years in change-making through activism and accompliseship.

I’m a proudly queer male and have been with my husband for 21 years. We have 2 fur babies named Lady Grey and The Kitty of Calamitous Intent.

If you’d like to get in touch with me you can send me an email at wsorrell@gmail.com.

Run for Office

I ran for office… twice! Once in 2014 and once in 2025. You can see my Rogers debates below.

Year of Queer Joy

Do you go to bed Dec 31st and think ‘Thank Zeus that is over’ and then wake up Jan 31st thinking ‘What does Hades have in store for us this year?’ – just me then?

Enter my Year of Queer Joy. For this year I’ll be posting an (almost) daily post of myself and my husband on my social medias (excluding LinkedIn). I’m aiming for 300 photos total. The point is to start the day with a moment of joy. At the end of the year I’ll be creating a photo journal of my year with the photos, posts, and some of the reactions.

Want to be involved? Tag me on threads or instagram if you post a queer joy photo! I’d love to have you in my photo journal! Yes, I might even see if it can be sold. This has already taken off on some of my socials and I’m thrilled people are resonating with queer joy!
